A stunningly sophisticated jazz album from one of the top session drummers in the area. A mix of Latin-flavoured beats and modern jazz inspired improvisations performed by expert musicians. This album beat out far more established artists like David Braid and Chantal Chamberland for best jazz album of the year honours this weekend at the Hamilton Music Awards. Lockwood also won the Hammie for top drummer, while band member Paul Inston won for best bassist. The Lockwood band is performing Wednesday at the Pepper Jack Cafe, 38 King William St.
